the fate of the parasite

I am, but, adamant,
to merely admit my defeat,
while I still can reflect
unto the enormity of my feat.
When,
'that' happened,
that I had imagined not.
Strangely my abode anime
began to rot.
Initially I thrived,
'cause this is how
I have been taught to survive.
But,
this host didn't last for long
and left one day
it's soul,
after suffering
too long.
With 'it' 
died any chance,
hope and want
(of me)
to spread, pollute,
flourish, and slaughter.
