Today because of a lost yesterday

As a summer breeze blows through my bedroom window, a setting sun reminds me of a forgotten yesterday.

It was just you and me lost in our dreams as we for licked ever so gently in the sun.

Yes you were my life in those days gone by.

You were so beautiful as we shared our love with dreams and visions that only both of us could behold.

Now a new lovers arms caress me like never before, you see I love her today because of a lost yesterday.

We tried so hard but the pieces fell and shattered to the floor.

We were to blind to see, we didn’t have a master key.

Tell me why you never had faith in me?

I wasn’t a puppet, your leash of lace just couldn’t hold me.

I really loved you then, how long has it been?

As I write these words my heart wants to sink ever so low, but I know this feeling will surely go.

You see ‘cause’ now my lovers arms caress me like never before and I love her today because of a lost yesterday.
