Sometimes fate can be an
ass.

Here is someone who has it all but has nothing. Here is someone who has nothing but has it all, and here is someone who has all of nothing, nothing at all. My moods turn like an unlawful clockwork now, I'm making mountain ranges with the swings, tonight I'm in the valley again with my old friend an old burrow named "Fate", were both on our knees digging for, maybe this time Japan, or the sun, on the other side of the earth. As always as time is the timelessness, and the shade is an often dark valley, and now inside this tunnel of forever that we dig it seems months pass like centuries and centuries limp like seconds. When we break free of the rock and faithless black dirt, we catch a brief site of the sunlight as it goes into someone else's sunset, or sunrise. We sigh and slightly brush ourselves off, my burrow and I, resuming the chase from a new valley. Don't get me wrong, sometimes we stray, needing to take a long look, once ago, between then and after we stopped digging, a hundred days mid tunnel "this is pointless" I said, "you know as well as I do when we reach this new end, the sun will have slid into another horizon", my burrow "fate", always patient and always smiling, although sometimes to dark to see, looks into me without a noise, except for the slight, shy bump of a bell, What if I say we go back the way we came, perhaps by than, the sun will be overhead. "Fates" small brows slightly perked, but first before we move another thought on this new direction, we should eat. "Fate" carried the food in sacks tied gently around his strong neck and strong back, and this time it was his turn to pick the meal and he chose his favorite, "hope" and "faith", he's partial to the "hope" and he preferred I eat the "faith", we finished, and rising to our feet in the thin dim tunnel, realized now our order of travel was reversed, "fate" looking up at me, gave a small jingle and hopeful smile, "ok old friend, I have some faith in myself, this time I'll lead the way." End part 1. Part 2 Tonight after a dig, myself and "Fate" stole a long breathless linger to relax our eyes in the bright black sky of everywheres, nowhere. Looking out across the empty unaccustomed structure we saw a scene of such beauty a field of perfect flowers, so vastly wide eyed wonderful that itself may never know, bloomed, denying these blank spacious surroundings a permitted domination. Then.. "Listen Fate, the music of sparrows, no, something so lifelike as this, could, should not be from here". As we listened, swept in by the song, the tone took a turning view, such sadness that herself would only know, spilled into the air. I turned to my timeless oldest friend, and was struck by a sight I wouldn't dare to dare to dream, the always shiny, smiling smile, "Fate" so proudly carried as if it were a newborn child, had trembled into such sorrow. Looking into each other our eyes were filled with tears, "Fate please don't cry, no more digging for now, we will continue on our journey which is called "Believe". You see only the truest burdens we carry are true when we carry them alone.... End part 2. |
